Last weekend Erik and I took a trip for our anniversary to Big Sur, California and had a wonderful stay at the Post Ranch Inn. It was an absolutely magical weekend! Our cliff house was literally at the edge of an 1,100 foot cliff, which provided more than amazing views. We started the trip off with some awesome in-room massages, then after the massage we stepped out onto our patio to enjoy the sunset just in time to see a whale spouting just below our balcony! We had an amazing dinner at Sierra Mar, and the following day we also so saw a California Condor, which happens to be an endangered species…not the most beautiful, but definitely the biggest bird I’ve ever seen! Casual hiking and beach walks followed with a leisurely drive back up the coast to San Francisco. We also stopped for dinner and a little shopping in Carmel by the Sea on the way home.
Post Ranch Inn would be a beyond amazing location for a wedding, elopement, or honeymoon stay! Another resort and wonderful venue in Big Sur is Ventana Inn which is just across the way from Post Ranch. Both have incredible locations.
Below are some images from our awesome trip!

We also stumbled upon a field with some beautiful shaggy ponies. Big Sur is big horse country!
